Pat Riggs Henson

President Oregon AFSCME Retirees Chapter 75

Pat Riggs Henson is President of Oregon AFSCME Chapter 75.

I was born in Minnesota to a strong union family. Moving to Oregon was a hard decision in 1974 when the economy tanked and there wasn’t work.  I have made Springfield my home since 1975.
My husband is Rick Henson (Also AFSCME), we have 4 children, 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren.
Working for Lane County for 29 years was such an awesome and sometimes challenging time in my life.
I helped get people training through career planning and scholarships.
AFSCME Local 2831 and AFSCME Council 75 became a large part of my family. I’ve held all the positions in Local 2831 from Steward to President. The union became one of my passions. I’ve run for office 8 times serving on the Lane Community College and the Springfield Utility board.  I was appointed to the PERS Board serving 10 years.
I enjoy my family, politics, reading paper books and being an activist.
Being your Retiree Union President helps me keep up the effort to protect our retirement security and serve you both on a AFSCME local and national level.
