We may have retired but we never quit. Oregon AFSCME Retirees are here to be the watchdog to protect our retirement security and to build a better future for all public service workers.

AFSCME has a long history of protecting retirement benefits. We champion the fundamental American promise that if you work hard, play by the rules, and contribute to Medicare and Social Security you can expect a secure and dignified retirement. In the 1980s we filed a series of lawsuits against “PERS reforms”, which returned $2 billion to Oregon PERS retirees. But today there’s lots more work ahead. We’re not only fighting to protect our pensions, but to expand Social Security and Medicare and finally to lower prescription drug prices.

Only by standing strong together can we achieve success. Dues are $36 per fiscal year (July 1 through June 30). That amounts to just $3 a month! Conveniently you can opt for automatic deduction from your bank account, or you may pay by check. Just fill out the enclosed membership enrollment form and return it to Oregon AFSCME Retirees, 1400 Tandem Ave. NE, Salem, Oregon 97301.
